How to Fix Windows 11 Search Not Working

Method 1. Fix Windows 11 Search Not Working Restart Computer

Step 1. Turn on your windows 11 computer and then open the Start menu.

Method 2. Restart Windows Search Service

Step 1. Open your windows 11 computer and then open the Start menu and search Task Manager and click on Open.

Click Open

Step 2. Go to the Services tab and then click on Open Services.

Click Open Service

Step 3. Now, scroll down and then right-click on the Windows Search and click on Restart.

Click Restart

Method 3. Reset Windows 11 Search

Step 1. Open your windows 11 computer and then open the Start menu and search Task Manager and click on Open.

Click Open

Step 2. Now, go to the Detail tab and then scroll down and click on SearchHost.exe and click on the End task.

Click End Task

Step 3. The computer and the OS will start the process in the background.

Method 4. Windows 11 Search Troubleshooter

Step 1. Open your computer and then open the Start menu and click on Setting.

Click Setting

Step 2. Go to the System tab and click on the Troubleshoot option.

Click Troubleshoot

Step 3. Now, click on the Other troubleshooters option.

Click More Troubleshoot

Step 4. Scroll down to Search and Indexing and then click on Run.

Click Run

Method 5. Clear Device Search History

Step 1. Open your computer and then open the Start menu and click on Setting.

Click Setting

Step 2. Go to the Privacy & security tab and then Scroll down and click on the Search permissions.

Click Search permissions

Step 3. Again scroll down and then click on the Clear device search history.

Click Clear device search history

Method 6. Run Powershell Command

Step 1. Open your computer and then open the Start menu and search Windows PowerShell and open it.

Open it

Step 2. Now, copy and paste the following command and then press enter.

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like “*SystemApps*”} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Press Enter
